What is Sun ‘n Fun?

Sun 'N Fun is a fly-in airshow held at the Lakeland Linder International Airport in Lakeland, Florida. This week-long event began in 1974 by a few aviation enthusiasts and has sprouted into Florida's largest annual convention.

Over the course of six days, there will be:

  • 500+ Exhibitors (including Aviation Oil Outlet)
  • Daily Airshows
  • 250+ Educational Forums
  • Daily Fly-Bys
  • Balloon Launch
  • Skydiving
  • Camping
and more...

While Sun 'N Fun has earned recognition for being an international success with visitors from over 80 countries, it might be a surprise to learn that the event is run by a not-for-profit organization with only a tiny group of year-long staff members.

If that wasn't enough, they use all profits from the event to promote aviation education by donating over $430,000 to Aerospace Industry career-based scholarships. This commendable act reflects Sun 'N Fun's mission statement of preserving and enhancing the future of flight while contributing to the community.

Because of the incredible success at the Sun 'N Fun Aerospace Expo 21 and the financial support from so many donors, Project SkyLab was completed ahead of schedule and under budget! This 22,000 sq. ft. addition to the Florida Air Museum will house the first ever purposely built aerospace-based hands-on STEM learning laboratories designed to engage, educate, and accelerate the next generation of aerospace professionals.

This new aerospace education ecosystem will enable us to reach tens of thousands of students annually from grade school through adult and help us "Build a Brighter Future Through Aviation" where the sky is just the beginning!
