25w-60 Multi-Grade Break-In Oil is used for engine break-in in opposed piston aircraft engines but may, in some situations, be used as a year-round engine oil.
Multi-weight aviation oils in 25w-60 are recommended for engine break-in and may be continually operational until TBO. Of course, refer to the OEM specifications of your aircraft engine before implementing the break-in oil for normal operation. 25w-60 Multi-Weight aircraft engine oils fulfill the following performance requirements and specifications:
Avco Lycoming Material Specification No. 301G, Pratt & Whitney Service Bulletin No. 1183 Rev. U, SAE Standard J1899, Teledyne Continental Material Specification MHS-24B, U.S. Military Specification MIL-L-22851D (obsolete) for additive treatment.
